Features
bizpando is a Freemium platform solution. It offers basic functions that are available for free as well as additional premium options.
Basic Features
The free basic functions include everything to make a company's supply chain transparent and to share own compliance results with customers. This includes the simple registration of an account with multiple users, the invitation and addition of suppliers and customers to the digital supply chain, the documented self-assessment and information according to the predefined questionnaire and the automatic presentation of one's own results to customers, as well as the insight into the results of suppliers. In addition, the display of relevant KPIs both for the own company and for the digital supply chain in a dashboard with the corresponding automatically generated news feed is one of the basic functions that are available to the companies on the platform free of charge.
Self Assessment
Companies can use the platform to complete self-assessments on various legal compliance topics in the form of a questionnaire. The questionnaires can be cached and published. The result is calculated based on the various answers using a traffic light system. After publication, the linked customers and their supply chain can view the results in the form of traffic light colours. There is also a version history and the option to export the questionnaire as a PDF.
External Audit
With this feature, external independent auditors can be requested for an audit via the platform. Once the contract has been concluded, they are given access to the self-assessment of the requesting company and can document their audit results there. If the result is successful, the audited company is displayed to the customer with the colour blue, which represents the highest confidence level on the platform.
Customer Invitation
Inviting business customers enables companies to extend their digital supply chain upwards. Link requests can be sent manually with a search or via an import. A distinction is made between two types of invitation: On the one hand, directly via the platform, where a link request lands in the invitation mailbox of the already registered customer, or via e-mail, where the customer is contacted and would be made by registering a link. The import helps to invite customers en masse using the Excel template. By linking to the supply chain, the customers and their supply chain automatically gain insight into the results of the completed questionnaires.
Supplier Invitation
In order to maintain a transparent supply chain, bizpando offers the option of inviting your direct suppliers and linking up with them. The invitations can be sent manually or via Excel or interface import. Suppliers who are already registered on the platform receive a link request in their inbox on the platform, the others receive an e-mail in which they can register by clicking on a link on bizpando and link directly to the inviting company. The suppliers complete the relevant questionnaires and publish them. This gives the company an insight into the results and also into the country and location-related risks of the suppliers. If the direct suppliers then invite their own suppliers again, the client company gains an even deeper insight into the chain.
Supply Chain Transparency
By using the combination of the features self-disclosure, inviting suppliers and customers and carrying out external audits, a transparent supply chain is gradually created for a company on bizpando. The supply chain view can be used to navigate and analyse which suppliers or sub-suppliers are not yet implementing the legal requirements or which are particularly trustworthy. The dashboard also presents the most important KPIs and diagrams for your own company and the supply chain. It shows transparently which events have taken place and what needs to be done next.
Premium Features
If companies would like to benefit from even more services related to the supply chain and sustainability beyond the free basic functions, they have the option to book premium features via subscriptions. The costs are fair and depend on the number of employees of the registered company. Why should small and medium-sized companies also register with bizpando? In contrast to the competition, bizpando has a holistic approach. In addition, smaller companies as registered suppliers support the large companies in fulfilling their duty to bring transparency into the compliance of their supply chain. Due to the cheap, size-dependent subscriptions, SMEs can also easily benefit from bizpando's extended functions.
-

What exactly is the German Supply Chain Act?The Supply Chain Act, more precisely Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, was launched by the Federal Cabinet on March 3, 2021, passed by the Bundestag on June 11, 2021, and approved by the Bundesrat on June 25, 2021. It aims to improve the protection of human rights in global supply chains. This involves compliance with basic human rights standards such as the prohibition of child labor and forced labor. The legislator sees part of the responsibility for this among companies in Germany and has stipulated that they must ensure that human rights are observed in their supply chains. The law defines clear and implementable requirements for the due diligence of companies and thus creates legal certainty for companies and those affected. The law came into force in January 2023. -
Are there supply chain laws in other countries?Yes, there are already many different supply chain laws in many countries based on the 2011 UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. And the EU is also already working intensively on the topic and is in the process of launching a comprehensive supply chain law that will then apply to all EU countries. More information
-
What is the Whistleblower Protection Act?The Whistleblower Protection Act is intended to ensure that persons who report anonymously on their knowledge of human rights violations and violations of the law are protected from repression. To this end, the law creates a safe space in which anyone has the opportunity, without threat of punishment, to report such findings to companies or institutions with the aim of their detection, investigation, prosecution and suppression. Enterprises with more than 50 employees are required by law to offer a corresponding reporting process. More information (German only)
-
How do the German Supply Chain Act and the Whistleblower Protection Act fit together? In order to be informed about human rights violations, companies are obliged by the German Supply Chain Act to set up suitable reporting systems. If the implemented reporting systems can conscientiously guarantee the anonymity of the persons reporting, they are also suitable for the implementation of the Whistleblower Protection Act.
-
How can bizpando help with the implementation of the Supply Chain Act and the Whistleblower Protection Act?We at bizpando have developed the platform precisely for the purpose of supporting companies in meeting their obligations arising from the Supply Chain Act and the Whistleblower Protection Act. Five important requirements must be met for the Supply Chain Act: Making your own supply chain visible Identify and analyze risks in the supply chain Prevent potential misconduct through preventive measures or correct existing misconduct Implement reporting system Generate reports for respective authorities For each of these requirements, bizpando offers functions that make implementation easier: By inviting your direct suppliers to the platform, who will also do the same, your supply chain will be gradually visualized. By publishing the results of your self-assessments and those of all companies in your supply chain, you and your customers get a precise insight into the risk potential of the supply chain. The results are aggregated and can be analyzed on the risk dashboard. The transparent supply chain with its compliance results enables your company to take action to correct misconduct identified by the reporting system or other sources or to prevent future misconduct. With the reporting system integrated into bizpando, companies offer whistleblowers a protected environment in which they can anonymously report human rights violations of which they are aware. This fulfills both the requirements of the German Supply Chain Act and the Whistleblower Protection Act. bizpando summarizes all of the risks you have identified and the measures you have taken in automatically generated, formal reports that can be sent directly to the responsible authority.
-
Which are the free basic functions that bizpando offers? All functions that ensure the compilation and the processing of supply chain data and data relating to compliance with the Supply Chain Act are free of charge. That means effectively: Linking your company with your suppliers and customers in the virtually mapped supply chain Use of the self-assessment questionnaires specifically developed to meet the requirements of the Supply Chain Act and checking the results for conformity Publishing the results of your self-assessment to upstream supply chain customers In-depth visibility into your supply chain hierarchy and compliance Generation of the dashboard for aggregating the compliance results as a basis for decision-making

How difficult is it to invite my many customers and suppliers to connect with me in bizpando? The effort is as low as possible. Of course, the data must get into the system. But bizpando offers you the greatest possible convenience for this. You can either enter the data of your customers and suppliers manually or simply import a list of all customer and supplier data into the system in a few, very well-described steps. When entering data manually, the system quickly recognizes whether the company you entered is a company already registered with bizpando. Depending on this, the company will either be sent an internal linking request or an external email as an invitation to register with bizpando in order to be linked as part of your supply chain. When importing, it is possible to insert data from an external system into an Excel template provided on the platform and to make the invitations in bulk using a guided process. bizpando also offers a REST-API as a direct interface to SAP.
-
I don't want to reveal all my suppliers to my customers, what can I do?That was also thought of. bizpando's sophisticated system enables you to select the "anonymous" option for each of your suppliers. In this case, when reviewing the supply chain, your customers will only see that there is an anonymous supplier at that supply chain level and the result of their self-assessment. But the customer does not learn any identifiable information about your supplier.
-
To what depth and width does bizpando make my supply chain transparent?Due to the invitation principle, there are no limits to the number and depth of the supply chain. As soon as each registered company invites its first-level direct customers and suppliers and is linked, the chain structure is created automatically. The chain always ends downwards when a supplier has no suppliers itself and upwards when a company has no customers apart from the end consumer. You can "surf" through all the sub-levels of your suppliers in the portal using the different views. The more companies are registered on bizpando, the more transparent your supply chain will be.
-
How does a self-assessment work?Specially developed questionnaires based on the relevant legal sources are available on the platform for the various topics anchored in the Supply Chain Act (e.g. compliance with human rights). You fill out the multiple-choice questions for your company and even may justify or prove your answers to each question with the help of comments and file attachments (e.g. certificates). The underlying process allows intermediate statuses to be saved or printed out. Once everything is filled out correctly, the system evaluates the conformity by calculating the information according to a given code and the result can be published internally. It is then visible to your upstream supply chain (your customers, their customers, etc.).
-
Which features can be expected in the future? The platform is constantly evolving and growing diligently. We at bizpando have big plans for the next few years. You can find the feature roadmap here.
-
Are the basic functions of bizpando really free of charge?Yes. All basic functions are free of charge and will remain so.
-
How is the platform financed? The platform is financed by an additional range of services. In addition to the basic obligations that arise from the Supply Chain Act for all companies, for which bizpando offers support with the free basic functions, there is an extended catalog of requirements for large companies, with which the extended functions of bizpando are helpful. These are chargeable. However, the costs for service subscriptions or transaction-based billing are in the lower price segment. This ensures that the administrative costs for effective participation in compliance with human rights and environmental standards do not pose a hurdle worldwide.
-
How can audit costs be saved by using bizpando? The bizpando platform is a "sharing economy" system that makes use of the "One Audit - Multiple Use" principle. This means that every registered company fills out its self-assessment once or has itself audited by an external auditor via the portal and the result is available to every linked customer. This is a great benefit for the proof of compliance with human rights in the entire supply chain required by the Supply Chain Act. Customers do not have to have the risk assessments re-created by each supplier and suppliers only have to complete (or have completed) the audit based on the requirements of the Supply Chain Act once instead of creating as many audits as they have customers. Therefore, the more companies participate in the platform, the greater the benefit for everyone, as the number of audits is drastically reduced for each participant. And remember: at bizpando, publishing the results of your self-assessment to your customers is a basic function and therefore free of charge. That is how you save on audit costs.
Why a Supply Chain Act Platform is necessary
What is a supply chain law platform and how does it help my company?

A supply chain law platform, such as bizpando, is a collaborative approach that aims to support companies in complying with the requirements of the German Supply Chain Act. It is a resource that helps companies to effectively fulfil their due diligence obligations with regard to human rights and environmental concerns in their supply chains.
Functions and services of the Supply Chain Act Platform

The platform offers a range of functions and services, including tools for linking with suppliers and customers from your own supply chain, completing standardised questionnaires and automatically sharing and receiving the results. In addition, compliance with the Supply Chain Act can be audited. The Supply Chain Act platform can help companies create more transparent and responsible supply chains by enabling them to map their supply chains and identify risks. It also offers the opportunity to collaborate and share best practices with other companies.
Advantages of using the Supply Chain Act platform

Using the Supply Chain Act platform can have numerous benefits for companies. They can benefit from more efficient compliance with due diligence obligations, resulting in a lower likelihood of breaches of the law and therefore a lower likelihood of fines and reputational risk. The platform can also help companies build trust and credibility with their stakeholders by demonstrating that they are actively monitoring their supply chains and taking action to improve human rights and environmental standards.
The Supply Chain Act Platform is a valuable tool for companies that want to fulfil the requirements of the German Supply Chain Act. It not only provides support in complying with the law, but also helps companies to position themselves as responsible actors in their supply chains. Companies that utilise the benefits of this platform can secure a competitive advantage and promote their long-term sustainability.
Global social responsibility
Politically and economically, effective supply chain laws are beneficial for Germany and Europe.

Industrial countries can secure and increase their wealth in the long run by enhancing environmental and human rights compliance in their sourcing countries. By an improvement of the livelihoods and GDPs of the sourcing countries, their productivity and participation in global trade can be increased, which leads to a rising global prosperity.
Transparency in the supply chain as well as good and close relationships secure long-term competitive advantages for companies. The issue of extended producer responsibility has existed for a long time even without supply chain laws.
In times when a wealth of information is available to the end customer on a daily basis, people's attitudes towards companies and their supply chains have changed massively. Corporate ignorance of human rights violations in the supply chain is incomprehensible to most. Companies that have a close relationship with their suppliers were even less affected by economic losses during the pandemic, and for a shorter period of time, than companies that do not know their supply chain.
In "normal" times, companies benefit from access to better suppliers with higher quality products and preferred service. You can't build these relationships without knowing your supply chain.
In summary, accountability and contribution of companies to an improvement of environmental and human rights in supply chains benefits numerous affected parties including themselves.
Financial Saving
Compared to other platforms, bizpando offers you multiple use of your own as well as supplier data. After you have checked your company yourself, you can share your results with every participant without having to fill out additional questionnaires. In return you receive the results of all sub-suppliers. Multiple use leads to time efficiency and cost savings for your company.
