Farmer Onboarding & Training
We work closely with farmer associations and local partners to onboard smallholder farmers into the project. Farmers receive practical training on sustainable biochar production, responsible use of agricultural residues, and soil application techniques. They are also trained in compost production, which is later combined with biochar before being applied to the fields. This mixture helps activate the biochar and improves its effectiveness in the soil. The goal is to ensure that biochar is produced safely, efficiently, and in line with recognized standards while strengthening farmers’ knowledge and agricultural practices.
Biochar Production & Application
Agricultural residues such as straw, pruning waste, or roots are converted into biochar through controlled pyrolysis. At the same time, farmers produce compost from locally available organic materials. Before application, the biochar is mixed with this compost, creating a nutrient-rich soil amendment. The mixture is then incorporated into the farmers’ fields, where it improves soil quality while permanently storing carbon. This approach enhances soil fertility, supports plant growth, and increases the long-term benefits for both farmers and the climate.
Measurement & Documentation
Reliable carbon removal requires accurate data. Using the bizpando platform and mobile applications, project partners capture key information at farm level, including biomass inputs, biochar production, and soil application. The system is designed to work even in regions with limited connectivity, allowing data to be collected offline and synchronized later. This ensures transparent documentation across all participating farms.
Verification & Certification
To ensure credibility and transparency, all project data is reviewed by independent auditors. The documented carbon removal is verified according to recognized certification standards, which define how carbon sequestration must be measured and validated. Once verified, carbon credits can be issued and registered within official carbon registries.
Commercialization & Revenue sharing
Carbon removal generated across many farms is aggregated into marketable carbon credits. bizpando connects these projects with companies and organizations seeking reliable climate solutions. Revenues generated from the sale of carbon credits are shared with participating farmers and local project partners, creating a direct financial incentive for sustainable practices.
Impact Creation & Long-Term Effects
The projects deliver permanent carbon removal while also strengthening agricultural systems. Biochar improves soil fertility, enhances water retention, and increases resilience to drought. At the same time, farmers benefit from additional income streams through carbon markets. This creates long-term environmental and economic impact for both local communities and the global climate.
